Talk in Kulim

A blessing
ceremony for the new Buddha statue in the Kulim Buddhist Association
was recently presided by the abbot of Than Hsiang Temple, Ven. Wei
Wu. The Buddha statue which was brought from mainland China, measures
at 1.5 feet, and is beautifully carved from pure white marble. |
The
ceremony began with a chanting session led by Ven. Wei Wu, with
all the devotees reciting together to bless the Buddha statue. The
president of the Kulim Buddhist Association, Chen Yuan Zhi and the
secretary, Lin Yu Zhu (general affairs) were very honored that Ven.
Wei Wu was able to officiate the blessing ceremony of the Buddha
image. |

The event was then followed by a dharma
talk on ‘Stages of Spiritual Path’ by Ven. Wei Wu.During the dharma
lecture, Ven. Wei wu spoke about the significance of observing
the five precepts and the firm belief in the law of cause and
effect. He also mentioned that for one to attain a higher level
of enlightenment, one should practice the four noble truths. Essentially,
it is through the practice of the noble eightfold path that leads
