Thus, to ensure that
the general public and the staff of Than Hsiang staff have a better
understanding on SARS, two talks on the deadly disease were conducted
in Than Hsiang.

Sister
Kang Sok Meng conducted the first talk attended by all the staff
of Than Hsiang concerning the signs and symptoms of SARS and how
it can be transmitted. She also mentioned the basic preventive
measures that can be taken when dealing with SARS patients. Sister
Kang Sok Meng was formerly a staff nurse in The Specialist Center,
Penang and a nutritional executive in Meadjohnson, Bristol Myers
Squidd before joining Than Hsiang as the supervisor of Wan Ching
Yuen, a home for senior citizens.
