Valentine's Day, 14 February 2006 – On this day of love, you will find couples world-wide exchanging gifts and vows of love. Here in Than Hsiang Temple, one truly loving couple chose this day to announce to the world that from henceforth they would live together as a pair, as man and wife, as equal partners on life's journey.

The gentleman was Mr. Loh Lean Hock and the lady was Ms. Yeoh Siew Eng. They solemnised their marriage by exchanging vows and rings before Mr. Khoo Kay Seang, the Assistant Registrar of Marriages at Than Hsiang Temple. After the simple ceremony witnessed by both mothers of the couple, Mr. Khoo advised them to adopt a give and take attitude in their married life. Mr. Khoo then congratulated them and told them that their lives are now intertwined with each other and when they step out of the door, they would do so not as individuals anymore, but as a couple bound together for the rest of their lives.

The married couple later went to the Great Compassion Hall (Dai Bei Dian) with their mothers, retinue of friends and Mr. Khoo for prayers and photographs. They also went to the Main Shrine Hall at 6 th Level of Than Hsiang Temple to offer prayers and had photographs taken of the wedding party.
