SAN SHENG DIAN (THREE SAGES HALL)

San Sheng Dian (or Three Sages Hall) of Than Hsiang Temple offers a serene and premium location for Buddhists to place the ashes of their deceased loved ones. The columbarium has niches in the Main Hall and in an air-conditioned Special Room. It has single and double niches that are available upon donations. Interested parties can personally select the available niches.

MANAGEMENT OF SAN SHENG DIAN

Open daily from 8.00am to 5.00pm.

1. The donor makes a donation to Than Hsiang Welfare and Education fund in exchange for the use of a niche. (Please fill in and sign the Application Form.)

2. The niche is available for occupancy after the full amount of donation has been settled.

3. Approval for the use of the niche will be given upon the production of the application form and death certificate bearing the same name and identification card number.

4. The donor may specify the name of the beneficiary on the application form. Two names are to be given for the use of a double niche. If no beneficiary is named, the donor automatically becomes the beneficiary.

5. Only the donor can request for a change of beneficiary. The change must be made by refilling another Application Form.

6. Rules on the use of facilities:

6.1 The donor or his representative will inform the temple within six days after the death of the beneficiary to arrange for the use of the niche.

6.2 To comply with the building structural design, only the urn that is supplied by the temple may be used.

6.3 Please help us keep the hall serene and clean. There will be no burning of incense, joss papers or offerings of candles, flowers and food inside the hall at all times.

6.4 For prayers, we encourage relatives to do so at the Da Yuan Dian on the ground floor of the temple. Please note that the temple does not allow the offering of non vegetarian food or the burning of joss papers and the likes at the Da Yuan Dian.

6.5 As a mark of respect to the deceased, the urn shall not be moved after installation. The door of the occupied niche shall be locked at all times. The temple has the right to refuse a request for the removal or moving of the installed urn.

6.6 The donor or dependents shall not open the niche or alter the design of the niche door at all.

6.7 Permission has to be obtained from the temple for the placement of any thing other than the urn inside the niche. The temple has the right to refuse any item that may affect the safety and serenity of the hall.

7 The above rules are subject to revision as and when appropriate.
