Yang Berhormat Ir. Mansur Hj. Musa arrived shortly after 6.00pm on 17 December 2005 to officiate a dialogue session between the residents of Halaman Mayang and Than Hsiang. This dialogue was held at the field next to Than Hsiang Temple.

The Honorary Secretary of the Residents' Association of Halaman Mayang (Persatuan Penduduk Halaman Mayang), Encik Mohamad Nasir, said that the reason for calling this dialogue, was to enable Than Hsiang and the residents come to a better understanding of each other.

Yang Berhormat Ir. Mansur Hj. Musa mentioned that children playing football in the field had caused minor breakages to Than Hsiang Temple. To overcome this problem a high fence would be built along the side of the field that is next to Than Hsiang Temple.

Venerable Wei Wu apologized to the crowd for not being able to speak well to them in Bahasa Malaysia and asked Venerable Zhen Xin to speak on his behalf. Venerable Zhen Xin spoke fluently in Bahasa Malaysia and said that it is Than Hsiang's hope to co-exist peacefully and harmoniously with the neighborhood. Mr. Chan Peng Kan, Honorary Secretary of Wan Ching Yuen Centre, then introduced the many activities of Than Hsiang, especially the welfare activities. Some of the residents were interested in the free medical consultations and acupuncture offered by the Metta Mobile Clinic.

Encik Mohd. Sharif Nor Mohd., Chairman of the Residents' Association of Halaman Mayang, expressed confidence that the residents could co-exist side by side with Than Hsiang in a peaceful atmosphere.

The Sunday School Youth Group of Than Hsiang sang a couple of Malay songs and participated with the residents' children in other activity Malay songs. Following this, everyone tucked into the sumptuous buffet spread of various food, cakes and drinks.
