Venerable Wei Wu, Venerable Zhen Xin, Bro. Yong, and I journeyed down to Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday, 6 December 2005. Bro. Yong and I took turns to drive the Toyota Unser and we stopped at Sungei Perak for a packed vegetarian lunch. We reached Tham Wah Wan in Old Klang Road around 4.30pm, when Bro. Yong bid us farewell as he was keen to go home.

We stayed at Tham Wah Wan till late evening as Venerable Wei Wu wanted to talk to the members who had gathered there. From there we proceeded to Than Hsiang Retirement Home (Kajang) at Country Heights to spend the night. Early the next morning, Bro. Chooi Shee Hoong took Venerable Wei Wu, Venerable Zhen Xin, Venerable Fa Yun, Venerable Tian Wen, two ladies and me to attend the Opening Ceremony of the 8 th General Conference of World Buddhist Sangha Council, held at the Palace of the Golden Horses.

Later in the late afternoon, we all went to Hu Bing Jing She (Hu Bing Vihara) to meet Venerable Master Bo-Yuen (Paik Wan), who is Venerable Wei Wu's Shifu. Venerable Master Bo-Yuen is the 51st generation Master of the Ch'an lineage. The Venerable Master is very learned in Ch'an, painting and calligraphy. Venerable Wei Wu, Venerable Zhen Xin, Venerable Fa Yun, and Venerable Tian Wen asked Venerable Master Bo-Yuen's guidance on the Dharma. Venerable Master Bo-Yuen elucidated the Dharma to them.

Around 4.30pm, Drubwang Konchok Norbu Rinpoche arrived at the temple. Drubwang Rinpoche is an exponent of the Mind Only School and the Madhyamika School philosophies. His Eminence is an accomplished practitioner with high realisation and a retreat master of Mahamudra. His Eminence was received by Venerable Master Bo-Yuen at the main entrance. They exchanged Kha-Btags (long pieces of white ceremonial cloth) and locked heads in show of their close relationship (which extends over countless rebirths) before entering the temple to pay their respects to the Lord Buddha.

They then sat together beside each other and had a brief conversation with the help of a Tibetan interpreter. After this, Drubwang Rinpoche blessed the devotees by tapping them on their heads with his sutras (representing the Buddha, Dharma, Sangha). Following the blessing, the two Masters and their retinue adjoined to the dining area for an evening meal. The two Masters ate together and after their meals, they both retired to a small room with two beds. Drubwang Rinpoche sat on one bed while Venerable Master Bo-Yuen laid down on the other. The two Masters were thus left alone together in their contemplation.
Shortly after, we all left and went back to Kajang to spend the night. The afternoon was a momentous occasion for all, especially me, as it is rare to be able to witness two great Masters meeting together. I am deeply thankful to Venerable Wei Wu for giving me the privilege to do so.
