Than Hsiang Temple Taking Three Refuge and Five Precepts Ceremony

It was Buddha Day on 22nd May 2024 (full moon day of the 4th Lunar month). The Taking Three Refuge and Five Precepts Ceremony was held on the Main Shrine Hall on the sixth floor of Than Hsiang Temple. Venerable Zhen Ru conducted the ceremony for thirteen attendees of whom eight took refuge in the Triple Gem while the other five received the five precepts.

All the attendees and their family members came to Than Hsiang Temple early in the morning to bathe the Buddha and participated in the Noon Offering. After the briefing at 12.30pm, the ceremony commenced at 1 pm sharp.

Venerable Zhen Ru started with a dharma talk. It was followed by the attendees taking their repentance vows and the Three Purification Vows. After which they took the refuge in the Triple Gem, received the five precepts and made the Four Great Vows.

The ceremony ended in solemnity at 3pm after Venerable Zhen Ru issued the certificates to the attendees.
