2025 Memorial Prayer Service for The Late Ven. Bo Yuan

Saturday, April 12th was the Memorial Day of the late Venerable Bo Yuan. At approximately 10.15a.m. the Buddha Offering Ceremony was held at the Main Shrine Hall on the sixth floor of Than Hsiang Temple.

On this day, the devotees came early to the temple to pay homage to the Buddha in the Great Compassion Hall and the Main Shrine Hall. The Buddha Tables were filled with offerings from the devotees such as lamps, flowers, rice, salt, rice flour, cakes, and sweet drinks.

At 10:15 a.m., the sound of the bells and drums resonated solemnly. Everyone made three bows in worship to the Buddha. Most Venerable Wei Wu led the monastics and lay followers in chanting the “Praise of the Lotus Pond”, reciting the Amitabha Sutra, and the Amitabha Gatha. Subsequently, everyone chanted at the Buddha Offering Ceremony. At this moment, the Main Shrine Hall was exceptionally sacred and solemn, everyone chanted and focused their minds with great sincerity.

After the Buddha Offering Ceremony, Most Venerable Wei Wu and the monastics led the devotees to the Ancestral Hall for the transfer of merits. After this, the sangha members and the devotees proceeded to the Great Compassion Hall and the Three Saints Hall for another transfer of merits. The ceremony concluded on a serene note.
