Penang Than Hsiang Temple holds a Mid-Autumn Festival Dharma Assembly every year. This year, the assembly took place on Saturday, 4 October.

Around 11:00 a.m., members of the Than Hsiang Youth Group, Loving Parents (爱心爸妈), Loving Brothers and Sisters (爱心哥姐), and secondary school students gathered to prepare for the evening’s festivities.

At approximately 7:30 p.m., the Mid-Autumn Festival Dharma Assembly officially began. The emcees welcomed everyone to the 2025 celebration, describing it as a rare and heartwarming moment.
The Festival opened with a chanting session led by the Brahma Voice Group. The atmosphere was solemn and reverent.

Afterward, the new abbot of Than Hsiang Temple, Venerable Zhen Sheng, delivered a Dharma talk. He wished everyone joy and unity under the full moon and hoped the talk would help participants experience the coolness and wisdom of the Dharma in a peaceful and harmonious setting.

Next came the highly anticipated entertainment segment. First was a talk show titled “Gathering Under the Moon” (月亮下的欢聚), performed by the Sunday Dharma School. The featured song was especially unique—co-created by the students and AI—and received enthusiastic praise. During the segment, the emcees also took the opportunity to promote the upcoming Children’s Dharma Growth Camp.

Following that, kindergarten children performed a lovely dance titled “The Full Moon Brings Reunion” (月亮圆来团圆), which was both adorable and impressive.

In addition to these performances, the Than Hsiang Choir Group sang two songs: “Moonlight in the City”(城里的月光) and “Moonlight Serenade”(月光小夜曲), bringing joy and festive spirit to the audience.

The final entertainment was presented by senior citizens from Wan Ching Yuen, who performed “Rendezvous at the Aobao” (敖包相会). One sang while the other danced, and their performance was truly captivating.

After the entertainment segment, the lantern parade began. This year’s parade was especially meaningful, as it was led by the new abbot, Venerable Zhen Sheng, along with other Sangha members who accompanied everyone throughout the procession.

Following the parade, everyone gathered in the canteen to enjoy refreshments. The emcees then introduced the game zone activities, which included lantern riddles, memory games, LEGO building, ring toss, and balloon games. The area was filled with laughter and lively energy.

As the Mid-Autumn Festival Dharma Assembly came to a close, the emcees expressed their hope that everyone had enjoyed a joyful, warm, and meaningful evening—and looked forward to gathering again next year.
