On Saturday, 15 November 2025, Than Hsiang Vege Farm in Balik Pulau held a Cleansing Ceremony and Gathering. A total of 70 participants attended, including Most Venerable Wei Wu, the newly appointed abbot Venerable Zhen Sheng, Sangha members, staff, and lay devotees.
The cleansing ceremony began at 9:30 AM. Most Venerable Wei Wu performed the cleansing of the Vege farm, while newly appointed abbot, Venerable Zhen Sheng led the chanting. Throughout the ceremony, everyone chanted sincerely, signifying that the Than Hsiang Vege Farm was officially ready for use.
After the cleansing ceremony, Most Venerable Wei Wu delivered a speech. He expressed his joy at seeing so many people present and noted that although the weather had been unstable recently, the day was sunny and pleasant, reducing discomfort and distractions.
Most Venerable Wei Wu concluded humorously by saying: “There is one important thing about participating in this activity—that is having lunch.” This light-hearted remark brought smiles to everyone. He also expressed gratitude to all who had prepared such a delicious meal.
Following this, Than Hsiang Senior Manager, Bro. Ming Tik, gave a brief introduction to the Vege Farm. He thanked everyone for their participation and expressed deep gratitude for the support of Most Venerable Wei Wu, the Sangha members, and the management team, whose efforts made the development of the farm possible.
Bro. Ming Tik explained that renovation of the Vege farm house had begun about five months earlier, and now the Vege farm was successfully open, with many vegetables flourishing. He shared his hope that the farm would continue to grow and prosper, with the vision that vegetables served in the Than Hsiang canteen would eventually be supplied directly from the farm.
He warmly welcomed everyone to visit the farm, help with harvesting, and encouraged each sub-group of Than Hsiang to organize activities there. The event concluded with a joyful lunch session, enjoyed by all.
