On May 26, 2026, the tenth day of the fourth lunar month, Than Hsiang Temple held the Buddha Bathing Ceremony for staffs and volunteers at the Great Compassion Hall.

Throughout the year,every staff members and volunteers had dedicated themselves to serving the temple with care and effort. Aside from cultivating good merits, they also listened to the Dharma. Since everyone is busy on Buddha's Day itself,the Buddha Bathing Ceremony was held earlier,giving staff and volunteers the chance to chant sutras, listen to Dharma talks,bathe the Buddha,and receive Sangha blessings.

The Buddha Bathing Ceremony officially began at 9:30 a.m. First, everyone listened to a Dharma talk by Venerable Zhen Ru. The talk focused on the significance of the Vesak Day Celebration Activities, introducing the origins of Vesak Day, the life of the Buddha,and the essence of the Dharma. Venerable emphasized the principles of equality among all beings and the purification of the three karmas (body, speech, and mind). He also shared the Song of Buddha's History composed by Principal Chan Seow Yin. Venerable concluded the Dharma talk with the teachings of Venerable Bo Yuan, encouraging everyone to cultivate both good merits and wisdom to build a happy life.

After the Dharma talk, the Sangha members led the chanting session. This was followed by the Buddha Bathing Session,beginning with Venerable Zhen Ru and other Sangha members, and then the congregation in turn. Afterward, Venerable Zhen Ru distributed five-colored threads to everyone,symbolizing blessings of peace and auspiciousness.

The ceremony concluded with the chanting of The Three Refuges and Dedication of Merits.

In addition, Than Hsiang Temple offered Buddha Day lamp-lighting from May 24 (the eighth day of the fourth lunar month) to May 31 (the fifteenth day of the fourth lunar month). Devotees were invited to light the Buddha Day Lamp Ligthing for their families, and to light lamps for their living parents, praying for the Buddha's light to shine upon them, dispelling misfortunes,increasing longevity and bringing auspiciousness.

On May 31 (the fifteenth day of the fourth lunar month), during the Buddha's Day celebration, Than Hsiang Temple canteen operates from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Food served including buns (mantou, curry buns, char siu buns), Putu Piring, vegetarian chicken rice, Acar (pickled vegetables), vegetarian dumplings, economy rice, and coffee. Devotees and the public are warmly welcomed to dine at the Than Hsiang Temple canteen and share in the joy and warmth.

On the same day, Than Hsiang Temple also launched a new book: Most Venerable Wei Wu's Dharma talk on the Sūtra of Praise of the Pure Land Received from Buddhas. Book copies were available at the counters in the Great Compassion Hall and the distribution area. The temple also provided digital resources, including e-books and audiobooks. Interested devotees could scan the QR codes at the counters to read or listen.
