The last day of the seventh lunar month marks the Sacred Birthday of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.

To reverently celebrate Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva's sacred birthday, Than Hsiang Temple held a Grand Offering to the Buddha in the Great Compassion Hall on September 10 (29th day of the seventh lunar month). The ceremony expressed deep gratitude for Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva's grand vow—"Not until the hells are empty will I become a Buddha"—and the spirit of filial piety and repaying kindness.

Numerous devotees attended the assembly, sincerely making offerings to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. They prayed for Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva's grand vow to bless all sentient beings, eliminate disasters, increase blessings, relieve suffering, and grant peace. The venue was solemn and pure, with fresh flowers, incense, and fruit arranged on the offering tables. Led by the Venerables, the assembly chanted sutras and performed prostrations as Buddhist chanting echoed through the hall. Devotees bowed with deep sincerity, turning their remembrance and blessings for family members and karmic creditors into offerings, praying for health and peace for the living and liberation for the deceased. Following the conclusion of the Grand Offering to the Buddha, the Venerables led the congregation to the San Sheng Dian to recite sutras and dedicate merits.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all Dharma protectors and volunteer Bodhisattvas for their devotion and support in making this assembly a success. May these sublime merits extend universally to all, so that we and all sentient beings together achieve the Buddha Path.
