On 26 of February, 2013 , Tadika Than Hsiang organized a birthday celebration for children born in the month of January and February.
At about 8.45 am parents , teachers and children started gathering at “Da Bei Dian.”

The celebration started at 9:00am. Hui Xiu Shifu led us in chanting “Namo Ben Shi Shi Jia Moni Fo" and reciting Than Hsiang’s Four Convictions i.e. “ The Young to Learn, the Strong and Healthy to Serve, the Aged and Sick to be Cared for and the Departed to Find Spiritual Destination.”

Hui Xiu Shifu was invited to give a Dharma teaching. Shifu gave an interesting power point presentation to capture the children's interest on a touching story of “Mother's Love,” displayed by birds. The main message was that no matter how or what, be it in mentality, behaviour or physical appearance, her own child was the best in everything in the eyes of the mother; just like what the mother crow had done to her baby crow in the story. For the greatness and sacrifices of mother's love, children need to be filial and grateful to parents. Shifu encouaged children to approach their parents to voice what they think most ......of their mother and father, examples given by Shifu were: the most beautiful, the most hardworking, the sweetest voice, the most helpful, etc... In the purity of a child's mind, a girl said, her mother was the fiercest.

The six -year- old children put up a few performances. Then the birthday kids gathered around the birthday cake and sang the birthday songs wishing the birthday children well and happy while the cake was cut.
After the transference of merits, parents and Ai Xinmama led the birthday children to the canteen where refreshment was served.
