To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Than Hsiang Welfare Association, the sale of a limited edition of a quarter-ounce Guan Yin gold medallion (999.9 fine gold) was launched at Than Hsiang Hall of Great Compassion on 31 July 2010.

With the support of the devotees, the proceeds from the sales of the Guan Yin gold medallion will help to finance the temple’s various activities, such as spiritual cultivation, education and welfare works. The gold medallion could be likened to a priceless piece of work for it not only possesses the intrinsic value of pure gold, it also embodies the blessing and empowerment of the Great Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva. In times of crisis, one should recite conscientiously the name of the Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva for protection and assistance. Ven. Wei Wu, the abbot of Than Hsiang Temple, added that we should also always emulate the great compassion and wisdom of Guan Yin.

The gold medallions are produced by The Singapore Mint with certificates. The image of Guan Yin on the medallion is a replica of The Guan Yin enshrined in the Than Hsiang Hall of Great Compassion since 1991. The limited two thousand quarter-ounce pure gold medallions will be offered to the public at RM2,200.00 per set. Besides partaking in an act of charity, the medallion can be considered a worthy souvenir and a collector item.

A free crystal-glass Guan Yin Bodhisattva image will be given to the first 200 orders.
