The Chanting for the “LIANG HUANG POW CHAN” started off on the morning of 6 th November, 2005 with a good turn out of 74 devotees. The Chanting led by Venerable Fa Yin started at 10:00 a.m. sharp. This event was organized by the Than Hsiang Foundation (Kuala Lumpur) and Tham Wah Wan Temple organizing committees and staffs.

The ten chapters of the “Jing San Ye Ze Liang Huang Pow Chan” would be chanted in sequence over the four Sundays of the month of November, starting on 6th November. The Chanting would cover three chapters each Sunday.

These sessions of Chanting were aimed towards repentance, and to be freed from the taints of ignorance and delusion. Three chapters would be chanted each Sunday, a chapter in the morning, one in the early afternoon and the third in the late afternoon.

Each day's session would end at about 5:30 p.m. Apart from the chapters of the book, other important Chants such as “the Three Refuges” and “the Dedication of Merits” were also chanted for every session.
