(Penang 26/9/13) Than Hsiang Temple, Penang will be organizing a Vegetarian Charity food fair in conjunction with the Nine Emperor Gods’ Birthday. The food fair, organized with the objective of raising funds to support the temple's welfare activities, shall commence from the 1st day of the 9th Lunar Month (5/10/2013) to the 9th day of the 9th Lunar Month (13/10/2010) at the temple premises.

Besides its mission to preserve the true teachings of the Buddha and propagate the wisdom of the Buddha Dharma, Than Hsiang Temple is also promoting Buddhist Education, kindergarten, welfare home for the aged, Metta free clinic, Mitra telephone counselling, welfare financial aids to needy populations and cultivation activities.

Than Hsiang canteen which operates from 8:00 to 20:00 during the 9 days Vegetarian Charity food fair, has the following to offer:
1) Economic lunch – on a pay-as-you-wish basis.
2) Buffet lunch – from 11:30 to 13:30 charged at RM12 per person. You can enjoy more than 10 delicious dishes such as rice and noodles, rojak, fruits, deserts and other foods in an air-conditioned hall on the fifth floor of the temple.

4) Local specialties such as nasi lemak, nyonya kuih, nasi ulam, fried noodles, fried rice, tomyam fried mee hoon, deserts, brown rice dumpling, curry, toast bread and etc.
5) Buffet dinner – from 17:30 to 19:30, per person RM6 with buffet spread of more than eight dishes, fruits, deserts and beverages.

Than Hsiang temple was established to promote Buddhist education, welfare and cultivation based on its Conviction of: "The Young to Learn, The Strong and Healthy to Serve, The Aged and Sick to be Cared For, The Departed to Find Spiritual Destination."
