Than Hsiang Temple hosted a Three-Day Amitabha Buddha-Name Recitation Retreat from May 29th to June 1st, held at its Fifth Floor Multipurpose Hall.
On May 29th, around 12:00 PM, registration, donation counters, and Amitabha Prayer for Deceased donation counters were set up at the ground floor of Than Hsiang Temple. Many participants arrived promptly to register and make their donations. At 3:00 PM, all participants gathered on the fifth floor.

Than Hsiang Temple held a Buddha Bathing Ceremony on the fourteenth day of the fourth lunar month. Concurrently, on the fifteenth day of fourth lunar month, the Buddha Day Celebration activities were held.
On the morning of the fourteenth day of the fourth lunar month, everyone gathered in the Main Shrine Hall on the sixth floor. Participants included the junior students and senior students, teachers, and parents from the Sunday Dharma School, as well as many other devotees. The Buddha Bathing Ceremony officially began at 9:30 AM.
May 9th was a particularly auspicious day for the Penang Than Hsiang Wan Ching Yuen. On that day, Wan Ching Yuen held a Buddha Bathing Ceremony to celebrate the Buddha Bathing Ceremony.
In the early morning, the senior citizens gathered in the shrine hall. The senior citizens were anticipative and filled with Dharma joy. Each of them held a bouquet of yellow flowers as a devout offering to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.
It was Buddha Day on the eighth of the fourth lunar month. Than Hsiang temple held the Buddha Day Lamp Lighting Purification Ceremony, the Kindergarten Buddha Bathing Ceremony, the Noon Offering, and the Transference of Merits at Yan Sheng Tan Altar. Additionally, on the ninth day of the fourth lunar month, a Buddha Bathing Ceremony for Than Hsiang Temple’s staff and volunteers was held. The location for these events was Than Hsiang Temple’s Great Compassion Hall.
Than Hsiang Temple held the Than Hsiang Buddhist Welfare Association Malaysia 40th Anniversary and Than Hsiang Mitra Welfare Centre 35th Anniversary Gratitude Night on Sunday, April 20th,2025. The venue was the SMJK Phor Tay High School sports hall. The event that day was grand and filled with warmth.
During April 13th and April 14th, Than Hsiang temple canteen team manager Brother Qi Shan led volunteers in the early preparations for the 40th anniversary.
Meanwhile, Brother Zhao Kun also led everyone to prepare 3 dishes such as: Black Jade with Broccoli(西兰花扣三宝), Dragon Roll (古法三鲜竹香卷), and Fragrance Yam Rice(滋味芋香饭). Besides Than Hsiang Canteen volunteers who assisted in the preparations, Brother Zhao Kun also brought his own volunteers to support the early preparations.
Saturday, April 12th was the Memorial Day of the late Venerable Bo Yuan. At approximately 10.15a.m. the Buddha Offering Ceremony was held at the Main Shrine Hall on the sixth floor of Than Hsiang Temple.
On this day, the devotees came early to the temple to pay homage to the Buddha in the Great Compassion Hall and the Main Shrine Hall. The Buddha Tables were filled with offerings from the devotees such as lamps, flowers, rice, salt, rice flour, cakes, and sweet drinks.
On Sunday, April 6th, Than Hsiang Temple held a Ching Ming Dharma Assembly on the fifth floor, which was also livestreamed simultaneously on YouTube. On that day, the temple was bustling with people, and everyone arrived early to pray to the Buddha, offer flowers, and light lamps. The fifth floor Dharma Assembly venue was particularly filled with many elderly people who were sincerely and wholeheartedly reciting the Buddha's name, awaiting the start of the ceremony.
The nineteenth day of the second lunar month is Guanyin's birthday. On this day, Than Hsiang Temple resumed the "Pu Men Pin" On-site Cultivation at 8 PM. The On-site Cultivation took place in the “Great Compassion Hall”, with approximately fifty people participating. Venerable Hui Li and members of the Brahma Voice Group led everyone in chanting the "Universal Gateway Sūtra《普门品》." Throughout the chanting, everyone's heart was filled with Dharma joy. During the circumambulation, everyone was devout and focused.
