International Buddhist College 15th Virtual Convocation Ceremony 2022

The International Buddhist College held its 15th Convocation on 28 August 2022 at IBC Auditorium Hall at 1:30p.m. (Thai time). After some announcements made by the emcee, Ms. Hong Mei Yue, the auspicious event started with striking of drums and bells. Soon after, the procession of Academic Staff and Graduands entered the hall.
Due to the Covid 19 pandemic factor, physical graduation ceremonies had suspended for two years. This year, we had hybrid convocation, both on-site and online. Many distinguished guests and their family members attended this grand graduation ceremony.
The ceremony began with a speech delivered by the Chairman of IBC Council, the most Venerable Dr. Wei Wu and followed by the speech delivered by Vice Rector of IBC, Professor Kapila Abhayawansa. Then, Dean of Graduate School, Associate Professor Mattia Salvini presented the Master of Arts graduands whereas Dr. Fa Qing presented the Bachelor of Arts graduands. The honourable Vice Rector, Professor Kapila Abhayawansa conferred the Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts degrees. After that, Venerable Dr. Wei Wu, the Chairman of IBC Council presented the Award of Outstanding in Academic and Conduct Performance to Ven. Bakul Barua and Ven. Qi Feng.
Speeches of appreciation were delivered by Venerable Maechee Isabel Swieczewski @ Dakkhina and Ven. Qing Xin in English and Chinese respectively. Next, it was a memorable moment to have signature by Vice Rector of IBC, Professor Kapila Abhayawansa on the “Register of Graduates”. The convocation ceremony ended with all the graduates sang the IBC Theme Song “For The Good Of The Many”. After that were group photo session and refreshment.
