From the 3rd to 11th October, 2024 (the first to the ninth day of the ninth month of the Lunar Calendar), Than Hsiang Temple organised the Ninth Month Vegetarian Food Festival to provide a good place for the general public to eat vegetarian food.

From 9.00am to 1.30pm daily, Than Hsiang Canteen attracted the public by offering affordable lunches. In addition, Than Hsiang Canteen also provide lunch box delivery to nearby factories, schools and residential areas.

In the run-up to the Ninth Month Vegetarian Food Festival, Than Hsiang Canteen was already in full swing with the procurement of ingredients, allocation of manpower, and arrangement of workstations.

On the first day of the ninth month, before dawn, Than Hsiang Canteen department manager, Bro Jin, led the volunteers to start their work at their respective working stations. They were familiar with the preparation of the ingredients and the process of roasting, boiling, deep frying, steaming and were conscientiously carrying out their duties to prepare the food. Subsequently, all those delicious vegetarian dishes were ready to be served in a short while.
At 1.30pm, the meal provision at the Than Hsiang Canteen came to an end. The staffs and volunteers were busy carrying out the aftercare work in an orderly manner.

Thanks to the fulfilment of all the karmic achievements and the support of the ten believers from all directions. Than Hsiang Temple, upholding the principle of promoting veganism among the public by providing all kinds of vegan delicacies, delicious noodles and desserts to all sentient beings so that they are able to develop compassion. We were also thankful to all the volunteers for their dedication and contribution to make the Ninth Month Vegetarian Food Festival a smooth and successful event.
