In conjunction with “World Meatless Day”, Than Hsiang Temple’s Kitchen team diligently prepared healthy and delicious vegan meals. These meals were shared with the public at the temple’s canteen on Monday, November 25, 2024 from 11:00am to 1:30pm.

In addition, Than Hsiang Temple prepared over 2,000 vegan lunchboxes, which were packed through the collective efforts of volunteers. These lunchboxes were then distributed to SJK (c) Chong Cheng, SJK (c) Min Sin, SJK (c) Kwang Hwa, SJK (c) Shih Chung Cawangan, Phor Thay Schools, Lam Wah Ee Hospital, Lam Wah Ee Nursing College and factories.

Eating vegetarian meals is akin to practicing life release. Than Hsiang Temple seeks to build connections with the community while spreading the Buddha’s message of “Compassion for all living beings”. The initiative encourages everyone to eat more vegetables and reduce meat consumption. It is hoped that as people enjoy the healthy vegan lunchboxes prepared with care by Than Hsiang kitchen team, they will also feel the blessing conveyed through them.

May the merit from observing a vegetarian diet be dedicated to all sentient beings throughout the Dharma Realm, may they attain good health, joy and deliverance!
