The bus left Than Hsiang Kindergarten at 9.10am on Saturday, 6 May 2006. There were 47 five-year old children and 13 teachers and assistants. We reached the Tzu Chi Buddhist Association at about 9.40am. At the entrance, all of us had to remove our shoes. We were given a bag to put our shoes in and we carried them along with us.

In the main reception area, we were greeted by members of the Association. It was a very quiet and serene place. We paid our respects to Kuan Yin Bodhisattva and Master Cheng Yen, Founder of Tzu Chi Buddhist Association. We were then split into two groups. Each group were briefed on the Tzu Chi organisation and shown a film about the organisation's work with unfortunate and disabled children.

In Penang, the Tzu Chi Buddhist Association was established in 1993. Master Cheng Yen actively promoted the concept of community volunteering. Tzu Chi was founded on the basis of the Buddha Dharma and carried out their various missions in accordance with the Buddha's teachings. Today, it is established all over the world.

At the end of our visit, we again paid our respects to Kuan Yin Bodhisattva and Master Cheng Yen. We thanked the members for receiving us and were each given a pen as a souvenir.

The next stop was the Youth Park. Youth Park is a recreational park for children and adults. There we found a shady spot for the children to have their snacks and drinks. The children had an enjoyable time and we took a lot of photographs for the Kindergarten's album. We left the park at 12.05pm.

This was an educational and enjoyable outing for all of us. We were all back at Than Hsiang Kindergarten by 12.20pm, tired but happy.
