A group of young novitiates paid a visit to Wan Ching Yuan Centre on the afternoon of 26 November 2005. These young Samaneras and Samaneris (devoted novices observing the Ten Precepts) were part of the Malayan Buddhist Meditation Centre's Novitiate Programme. 26 November 2005 was the last day of their Novitiate Programme and they were going round to visit various temples and doing Dana (presentation of gifts in cash and kind).

Bro. Tan Hong Tee was there to receive the novitiates and adult members of Malayan Buddhist Meditation Centre when they came to Than Hsiang Temple. At Wan Ching Yuan Centre, the Samaneras and Samaneris chanted the Three Refuges and Salutations to the Triple Gems before distributing gift packs and “ang-pows” (paper packets of monetary gift) to the inmates there. Bro. Hong Tee briefed them a bit on Than Hsiang's activities. Their schedule, however, was too tight for Bro. Hong Tee to give them a tour of the Temple's premises.

As the Samaneras and Samaneris filed into their bus to leave Than Hsiang, they showed so much discipline in their spiritual practice that one is filled with respect for them and their spiritual teacher. A big Sadhu! Sadhu! Sadhu! to them and may their short stint as Samaneras and Samaneris guide them spiritually in their future lives.
