Than Hsiang Temple will stop the “Ancestor Veneration on your behalf” project and change it to “Mass Ancestor Veneration and Transference of Merits”. Kindly register early to facilitate chanting services. The food offered would be similar to those offered during dharma assemblies but on a smaller scale instead of individual sets. We aim to cut food wastage in support of environmental friendly practices. Sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused.

International Buddhist College Kathina

IBC Kathina will be held on 30-10-2021. This is a Theravada tradition, devotees will offer robes and daily requisites to the Sangha after their 3 months Vassa. This is the same practice of the Mahayana tradition of Ullambana on the 15th day of 7th lunar month after 3 months retreat of the Sangha.

Excess fund collected will be channeled to IBC Education Fund

Filial Piety Dharma Assembly 2021

Than Hsiang Temple is organising a Filial Piety Dharma Assembly from 30.8.21 to 05.9.21, to promote filial piety and the Buddhist way of celebrating Ullambana Festival (Seventh Lunar Month).

There will be Lamp-Lighting (blessing for living parents and relatives) and penitent service(remembrance of the departed parents, ancestors, karmic creditors, abortion or miscarriage foetus and all sentient beings)

to be carried out during this period.

Buddha Day Lamp-Lighting

Than Hsiang Temple is organising the Buddha Day Lamp-Lighting to comemorate the Birth, Enlightenment and Parinirvana of the Buddha, from 19th to 26th May 2021 (B.E.2565). All the merits accrued will be transferred for the well being of the society and country.

Green Friday Buffet

Good news! In order to further encourage the public to consume more vegetarian food and cut down on meat, Than Hsiang Restaurant will launch the weekly Green Friday buffet lunch on March 6, to encourage the public to go vegetarian every Friday, with the ultimate objective of reducing slaughter, cultivating compassion and love for all living beings, and acquiring boundless merits.
